CIRCLE is the inaugural exhibition presented by Seven Marks Gallery, a brand new contemporary art space located in Kiama on the beautiful South coast of NSW, Australia. Seven Marks Gallery “heralds in a new chapter for artistic expression and compelling art experiences.”
The exhibition features the work of nine individual artists exploring the circle through their chosen media of glass, painting, jewellery, photography, metal and wood sculpture.

“Circles are a constant in my practice as a jeweller - as archetypal forms to fit the body, (fingers in particular), as well as providing the geometric framework for design and fabrication. For this series I take the circle for granted as a form for the finger and instead focus on the point from which the circle finds its equidistant centre. While planes are extruded into tubes, ‘points’ take their form through synthetically perfected spheres of sapphire, ruby, and silicon nitride. The silver casings reflect boundaries that not only serve to locate the objects on the body, but also perform as sculpturally considered surfaces - metal skins to both envelop and conceal.”
